Description
This is a functional diya, not just a Ganesha showpiece — the trunk curves down to form the lamp's silhouette and there's an actual oil bowl built into the design, so it can be lit for daily aarti or festival evenings rather than sitting unused. That's worth knowing before you buy it as pure décor: the bowl will show oil residue with use, which is normal and part of a working brass diya.
At 9 inches it's sized for a mandir shelf or entrance console rather than a small altar — it reads best with some space around it, not crowded next to other idols. Brass darkens with oil use over time; that's not damage, it's what a used lamp looks like, and a periodic brass polish (before Diwali is the usual cue) brings the shine back.
