Trunk-up versus trunk-down is the detail that actually matters with elephant figurines, and it's worth getting right before you buy or gift one. Trunk-up is the version associated with drawing in positive energy and is the one usually placed near an entrance or office desk; trunk-down (rarer, mostly seen in temple carvings) is associated with pouring blessings outward.
